The Dangers of the Counterfeit
An illustration came to mind as to the dangers of believing on the counterfeit can be, how deadly it can be.
Sometimes, we may be ‘off’ only a little. What happens if you are ‘off’ about 5 degrees in a compass reading? Or in a flight pattern?
That little bit will not get you to your destination.
Consider that ‘little bit’ if you were living in obedience to NINE of God’s laws, but neglecting one, the one that started with REMEMBER.
That ‘little bit’ (NOT little in God’s eyes, but in man’s) can totally send you in the wrong direction.
Another example:
What if you were making this delicious recipe. You loved it so much you made it daily. But each day, as part of your recipe, you added what you thought was a true ingredient, but someone had substituted a false one, one that was p0ison? (Like strychnine for salt or baking soda.)
It had no taste on its own. You could not tell it was in there.
Over time, though, the effect on the body was deadly.
These two examples prove why it is essential to make sure ALL your spiritual beliefs are in line 100% with God’s word. These show why it is very important to follow God’s truth vs man’s traditions.
Living by man’s spiritual traditions will not help you reach heaven. Jesus even warned against this.
Matt 15:9
“But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.”
James 2:10 reminds us:
“For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.”
See, just as it is not ‘fruits’ of the spirit, but fruit, it is the LAW of God and not ‘laws.’
I urge each person who calls themselves a child of God to search God’s word diligently, making sure each belief you hold to is supported by the whole Bible, from Genesis to Revelation. God does not contradict Himself. His law has not changed. It is the foundation of His government in heaven.
If satan was kicked out for breaking God’s law, how do you suppose YOU can get IN, while not obeying God’s law?
We do not keep the law to BE saved, but as proof we ARE saved.
Something to think about.
