Big Move, New Start
It’s been a while since I’ve posted. I rarely post about anything personal, choosing to focus on issues of mental health. Over the past year, I’ve finished my Master’s in Mental Health Counseling with Play Therapy Certification and moved half-way across the country.
The decision to move was not an easy one. My small family has been bombarded by all types of trials over the past 18 months. It took a lot for this stubborn person to decide to surrender to God’s will that she move. I’m in my 50’s now. I’ve worked hard over the past seven years to establish myself in my community. To move where I only knew one person was a big step, but that’s what I did.
We are working hard on getting Kindling Dreams going. I will be offering various training classes over the next few weeks. My website will soon be live. As time passes, the classes will be offered online in addition to face-to-face.
One thing I have learned through personal research over the past year or so is the importance of diet in our mental health. If a person truly wants to recover mentally, then a healthy diet is essential. It is easy to pop a pill to cover up a symptom, but for true health, it begins with what we put into our mouths.
In the following weeks, I will be sharing information about how a person can make small changes each week to improve their overall health, especially their mental health. From personal experience, I’ve made changes and was able to get off all medications. I got rid of the constant 9-10 pain. I think better and have more energy. Everything isn’t perfect, but it’s a lot better than it used to be.
I hope you will walk this path with me to become all you were meant to be.
